The first TD-SCDMA handset jointly developed by SIM Technology Group Ltd. (“SIM Technology” or “the Group”; SEHK stock code: 2000) and Korea SK Telecom China ("SKTC") had a successful debut in Beijing.
Besides the basic functions such as voice communication, MMS, WAP Internet access and multimedia display, the new handset operates on SKTC’s proprietary application platform and features a unique personalised user interface design. The jointly developed handset can also be upgraded by service providers with value added services. Korea President Mr. Lee Myung-bak attended the TD-SCDMA Exhibition organized by Datang Telecom in Beijing. He tried the features embedded in the new 3G handset and was impressed with digital mobile TV and web surfing via HSDPA functions.
SIM Technology and SKTC signed an agreement last August to form strategic alliance in the development of TD-SCDMA Wireless Terminal application solutions. The successful debut of the TD-SCDMA handset in Beijing was the result of close partnership between the two companies. In the future, SIM Technology and SKTC will continue to develop other advance TD-SCDMA handset solutions and contribute to the growth of the TD industry.
